You can make more DealDotCom sales if you use this DealDotCom Widget. The
widget is programmed to change everytime the DealDotCom rssfeed is changed. Now
you might say, it only changes once a day. But, in reality I have seen it
change 3 or 4 times a day when the deal of the day isn't ready and is still in
pending status.
This widget will help you receive more money from DealDotCom because it helps
you focus your sales message. Since it is changing everyday, then it is looked
at everyday. If you are running the same banner ad on the same site for 10 days
in a row, then your visitors have stopped looking at it.
But, if you are changing the ad every single day. Updating it with fresh new
content then you visitors will consistently look and see what today's Deal of
the Day will be. They will read the ad and will be more likely to click

Widget is Easy to Install and Use
Important! This code is for Visual Studio 2005 The first
thing you need to do is to download the zipped file that contains the dll and
the two image files you need.

1. Unzip the file. Remember the folder location where you unzip it.
2. Open Your Visual Studio.
3. Place the Widget on the Tool bar. Open your ToolBox, Normally found
on the left hand side of your IDE.
Right Click on the Section Titled General.

A pop-up menu opens. Click on Choose Items...
A new window opens up Choose ToolBox Items.

Click on the Browse Button
Find the file DealDotComWidget.DLL from the zip file from step one.
Highlight the dll and choose Open button.

You should be back on the Choose Toolbox Items window. Look for the name
under the .Net Framework Components tab labeled with a name of DealDotComWidget.
It should already be checked.

Click the OK button.
4. The next step is to drag and drop the control from the toolbox to the
location on the page where you want it to show.
Open the ToolBox and go to the General category. You should see the DealDotComWidget
in that section.

Drag the widget onto your page.
Three things will occur when you perform these steps.

If you look at the HTML source you will see the widget has been registered on
the page.

You should find the widget DealDotComWidget placed on your page in the proper
location.

Either a reference to the DLL is in the reference folder or the
DealDotComWidget.dll is located in the bin directory.
5. You are now set to populate your properties to make this work. If you
are connected to the internet you should see the control partially working.
Click on the control to gain focus. Then open your Properties window.
There are 5 properties you MUST fill out to make this work on your website.
Especially if you want to earn any money from DealDotCom.

The first thing you MUST do is enter your DealDotComID. You don't make any
money if you don't do this.

Enter whatever Discount Sales Message you would like to display. I recommend, Discounted
Price - Today ONLY
This text is added to the price from DealDotCom

RefreshMinutes needs to be populated. It defaults to one minute for testing
purposes. But, once you are comfortable then you need to change it to 60
minutes. This means once an hour you will check to see if DealDotCom has a new
offer on the table.

BottomImage URL. Here is where you need to take the image named dealdotcom-bottom.gif
and place the path (either reference path or hardcoded path) where the image
will be found on your website. So, if you have a folder where you put all your
images then place the image in that folder and then reference like
"http://www.yourwebsite.com/images/dealdotcom-bottom.gif".

Top Image URL. Do the same thing as above with DealDotComTop_148X33.jpg Make
sure you reference it correctly.
If you place the images in the proper directory right now and then reference
them directly, you should see them show up in your page. (Assuming you are
connected to the internet.)

6. Build the project/solution
7. Deploy to the internet. If you originally referenced the DLL in your
solution then when you place your normal project DLL in your bin directory this
should be included. If you added the Dll to the solution then when you go to
your bin directory you will find this dll in your bin folder. Push the
DealDotComWidget.dll file into your website bin folder. Push any pages or
controls you added the widget to and you should see the widget show up.
8. Make lot's of money.
That is all it takes to make this work. If you run into any problems just
delete the control from the toolbar and start again. You can delete the control
from each page you place it in with no problems.
