Yews are normally
found as foundation plants, in front of porches and under decks. The tree
version of the yew is sometimes found as a landscape plant placed on the corner
of houses and homes.
They grow in shade or sun and yews are a bright green in spring and then turn a
dark green during the summer. The female plant will produce red berries in
winter, but requires a male plant nearby. Recommend protecting the plant from
harsh winter winds with burlap screens.
