Just eat less. Instead of three
helpings, choose two. Instead of two helpings choose one. Choose water instead
of pop. Choose veggies instead of potato chips. See how easy it is? Choose to
bring your lunch instead of eating out with your coworkers.
Last year during this same time period, I lost 25 pounds. I brought my lunch
most days. But I also went out to eat with a friend from work once a week. We
would go to someplace like Wendy's. But, the key weight loss benefit, was I
would order something besides a hamburger and fries. And I got in the habit of
asking for water or unsweetened tea instead of cola.
I was disciplined. Much better than I have been this year. But it comes down to
you wanting to lose weight more than enjoying the temporary pleasure of food.
And you know it is only temporary. Six hours later you are back at the feed
trough filling up on foods that only serve to defeat your purpose of weight
loss.
The weather turned out fairly nice today. I went for a walk and the path was
okay. I did reach a point where the path became so full of water and mud that I
had to turn around. There was a little snow left on the path, but it wasn't a
hazard to me. Ended up walking 4 miles.
Breakfast was 2 servings of grits, a scrambled egg, butter, milk, and orange
juice. Then for lunch, I enjoyed a bologna sandwich, green beans and a brownie.
For supper, Mary and I had leftover roast beef, gravy, mashed potatoes,
broccoli and a brownie. I tell you I did much better last year. At least up to
this point, I haven't gained any weight this winter. But I haven't lost the
amount I wanted to at this point in the weight loss challenge.
Good luck today, I hope you make the right choices. Have a great day!
