Day 35 - Lose Weight in 8 Weeks

Sundays are always a tough day to watch your weight. There are family get togethers, going out to nice restaurants, and spare time to make cookies and brownies. When you are trying to lose weight, there are specific days each week that are most difficult to do the right thing weight wise.

How you handle those days determines how easily you get through the rest of the week. Are you able to sneak away for a little exercise? Do you eat healthy in the face of adversity? Do you talk the family into not going to brunch at the local restaurant with friends?
I mention all these adversities, because, I didn't do as well as I should have done today. I did alright for breakfast. Two servings of instant grits, 1 scrambled egg, butter, and orange juice.

Then there was that mid-morning snack of two slices of toast, butter and jelly. Lunch consisted of 2 hot dogs and some potato chips with water. Dinner was delicious, with roast beef and gravy. Then we had mashed potatoes and broccoli.

Then there was the weekend bugaboo. I had written a couple of articles for the website and I was bored. The weather outside was kind of messy. We had snow overnight that had turned to sleet and then rain. Then it warmed up and the streets and sidewalks were generally nasty. So, I had no interest in walking or weightlifting really. So instead I made brownies. A terrible mistake.

If I could stop at one serving of brownie, then it would be okay. But, no, I have to eat 4 servings of brownies. I am not proud of it, but that happens to me. And it is just boredom. If I was busy, I wouldn't have done it. So, that is my hurdle I need to overcome whenever I try to lose weight. What is yours? Do you have the will power to overcome adversity and mistakes and work through toward your goal? I think you will. I know you can.
