I didn't really exercise today. No
walking or weightlifting. I will have to do better tomorrow.
If you are looking for positives, I did refrain from eating chocalate candy
that is in the house. I chose an apple instead.
How do you stay motivated to eat healthy? Do you think about it all day long?
Do you block out food commercials? Do you ignore your friends when they want to
encourage you to join them in food and mayhem or do you stay the course?
Brian Tracy the motivational and business speaker, talks about two strangers
meeting on the road in Greece. One of the strangers asks, "Do you know how to
get to Athens?" The second guy responds, "Just make sure every step you take is
toward Athens and you will get to Athens." That second guy was Socrates.
How do you lose weight? Just make sure everything you eat leads to weight loss.
That is so true in all we do. You want to make an impact at work? Make sure
everything you do leads to positive progress. You want to be a great athlete?
Make sure everything you do leads to athletic success.
What steps lead to weight loss? Staying away from foods with sugars in them is
key step number one. When I was in my thirties, I read a book called "Sugar
Blues". It scared me to death. I went six months without eating sugars. I
dropped about 30 pounds and my family all thought I was sick, I was so thin.
But, when you eliminate sugar from your diet then positive things happen to
help you lose weight.
Next key to weight loss is to exercise. Anytime you can burn calories that you
have consumed, then you reduce the total number of calories that your body can
turn to fat. You have to always be thinking about balancing those two keys. Eat
less and exercise more.
No candy today and no snacking during the day. An excellent day. I hope you
