Day 16 on Holiday Weight Loss Challenge

This is the holiday weight loss challenge. Where the challenge is to lose weight and diet. We have had our good days and our bad days. We have eaten a lot and eaten a little. Today, I ate too much of the sweets. The brownies are almost all gone. Thankfully. Then I will be back on the road to success.

Have I given up? Nope. This is just a detour that needs to be traversed. Like the people on the Amazing Race. One minute you can be in last place and the next moment something happens and you're on top. This diet has me in last place now, but tomorrow I will be back on the highway to weight loss success.
For breakfast I had 1 scrambled egg, 2 servings of instant grits, a tablespoon of butter, 6 ounces of milk and 8 ounces of orange juice. The milk is 2% milk.

Lunch was delicious, with thinly sliced deli turkey on 2 slices of bread and some mayo and a slice of Colby Jack cheese. I drank water and had green beans. Oh yeah, I had a brownie for lunch.

For dinner, Mary and I had chicken tacos with lettuce, tomatoes, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, sour cream, and some salsa. We were out of taco seasoning. It was delicious. For dessert, I only had 2 brownies. Ouch. That hurt. Luckily the brownies are just about all gone.

I did exercise today. Four miles walking in the forest and marsh area of Blackwell forest preserve and 45 minutes weightlifting. Concentrating on Shoulders, back and biceps. The forest preserve was interesting today. With all the snow on the ground the forested area was like looking at a black and white photo. All the black vertical trees against a background of white. Very cool.

It has been 3 months since I weightlifted, and I am really sore from the day before. Tomorrow the pain will be worse. Nothing is hurt, it is just sore muscles. Weightlifting has always been a challenge for me. I just have to work through it.

If you haven't been exercising because you don't won't to go through this pain, then today is the day you need to put all that behind you. It is only temporary and imagine how great you'll look in 8 weeks. You're gonna look terrific. I know it. So get out there and walk, lift weights, do Yoga, whatever. Just get going.
