Day 14 on Holiday Weight Loss Challenge

All right it is the weekend. You gotta love the weekends. They are our best opportunity to eat right and also our best opportunity to eat poorly. This weekend I did some good things and not so good things.

I took Scott to the airport after eating breakfast. He was such a wonderful conversationalist. His english was very good and he actually is a student of the language. He looks up the roots of words and finds the foundation word. Then he will connect words with the same roots. On the way to the airport he was telling me about the words, consume, assume, and subsume. They all have the same root sume. Which is not a word of its own, but is a base word for all the others.
Everytime I spoke with Scott he would tell me about words that no American has ever told me. We as Americans take our language for granted. We don't know the root of words. Where did the words come from? How does the word relate to other words? It is a good habit to make your own.

My eating for today went fairly good. For breakfast I had one scrambled egg , 2 servings of Instant Grits with butter, 6 ounces of milk and 8 ounces of orange juice. Lunch was quick with a chicken sandwich with Colby Jack cheese, 2 slices of bread, a tablespoon of mayo.

Now late in the day I got bored. I was watching tv, basketball, writing articles for the website and I decided to make some brownies. I knew I shouldn't have made brownies. Because the truth is I will eat most of them. Not just one a day, but many a day. I will have to walk every day to at least counteract the calories. But it just evens things out, I don't lose weight when I pig out like that.

Mary yelled at me when she got home from shopping. She is trying to do better also and I am not helping her any at all.

At dinner we finished off the key lime pie. We had chicken sandwiches, potato chips, and water. Not bad.

Hopefully, I will survive the weekend brownie fiasco. I know you will do better than I did, and I wish you the best for the weekend and the week.
