Day 10 on Holiday Weight Loss Challenge

I can't believe it has already been 10 days since we started this adventure together, the holiday weight loss challenge. How do you feel? Lighter, frustrated, enthused or ecstatic? All those feelings at any point during the day? It can be frustrating. It is painful as you are watching your weight and the donut cart comes by or your friends invite you out to lunch with them.

You want to do better, but there is so much temptation. That is why you have to take it in small steps. Big steps are exciting, but then you falter once
and you get so depressed you want to quit. Keep your expectations within reason. Find a habit you can do well. If you always eat candy when you get home then try to only eat half every night. If you succeed 4 days out of 7 then the week was a positive week for you. Celebrate the small stuff.

Breakfast started with one egg scrambled, 2 servings of Instant Grits with butter and 6 ounces of milk. We were out of orange juice so I substituted water. I had a hot dog and 10 potato chips for lunch. Nice and fast as I had an appointment at 1:00pm.

After my appointment I was still hungry, so I ate a small package of peanut butter crackers. Probably 250 calories or so. Then for supper, a homemade hamburger, with mozzarella cheese and pizza sauce, 2 slices of bread and a handful of potato chips. No candy today, a small victory.

Did you workout yesterday? My foot was still a little sore. I am not planning on working out for another couple of days. I arranged for a tetanus shot for thursday. Do you think I will live until then? I hope so.

This week can be good for all of us. Be strong in the face of temptation. Just say, "I know what is right, I will eat the good stuff instead of the food I know is bad for me and I will control my portions." You can do it.
