Passive Income From An Affiliate Program

Are you looking to make some passive income on your website? Have you tried every affiliate program and received little to no cash? Do you want that to change starting today?

The program I am referring to is the ShareASale Network. They have gathered some of the largest names in business as clients and they are interested in partnering with you to achieve a goal. What do you have to do? It is pretty simple really. You just sign up with ShareASale. Once you are signed up then you can use the simple interface to find marketers in your niche. They have hundreds of merchants, so finding the right mix of niche products for your site should be easy.

Robust Interface to Help You Earn A Passive Income

ShareASale has a robust interface to help you grow your income. After you sign up the first thing you will want to do is find a merchant. At the top of the page is a link Find/Join Merchants. Bingo. You can search by market area, by keyword, by the top Power 100 list and even by holiday.

Each merchant has different rules and pay out programs. So, after choosing 1 or more merchants to work with then some of them may need to evaluate your website before adding you to their affiliate program. Once they approve you, usually within 24 hours during the business week, you are ready to choose advertising. The merchants each create their own ad campaigns and you can find a wide range from text link ads, banner ads and some even have data feeds for you to roll your own.

Just pick the ad type you like, place it on your web pages and begin earning money. Wow, that was easy. The scripts ShareASale gives you are easy to put on your web site or blog.

Well Designed Report System for Passive Income

How do you know if you are making money? It is again well designed. At the top of the page when you are in the ShareASale web site there is a link, Reports/Stats. You can stay up to date on the number of times your ads are clicked, the sales made and the money you earn. After you earn $50 in payouts, they will cut you a check or do a deposit into your bank account. You can download your stats via a csv file for historical purposes. Remember this is passive income from an affiliate program.

ShareASale also has a Tools section with a Deals Database, Make a Page and RSS Feeds. Plus many more. They even have their own forum in case you want to learn more and get help from the pros.

You Don't Have to Do Anything - Passive Income

I can't see how it can get any easier than this to make money. You spend 10 minutes setting everything up and then watch the checks come your way when sales begin to happen. You don't have to do anything after placing the banners on your web site. You don't have to accept the order. You don't have to fulfill the order. You don't have to worry about product questions or shipping problems or anything. Just sit happily looking out the window and wait for your monthly check to arrive.

You can earn money from merchants from per sale amounts up to $150 each. Or you can earn per lead, a percentage per sale or even based on clicks. Each merchant has their own way to determine how you get paid, but you get to choose the merchants you want to work with.

I have been involved with them for about 48 hours and I have already received 10 clicks to the merchants. I haven't made any sales yet, but the spring is coming and I am encouraged by the click through rate. I have in the past worked with affiliate programs where I didn't receive a click for a whole month. I am getting clicks every day. The first time I looked at the report, I had already received 2 clicks and I hadn't even been accepted by all the merchants at that point. I think this one is going to be a winner as a way to earn a passive income from an affiliate program.

Hey Ken!

I'm so glad you are writing about this - I'm in desperate need of help in this arena.

Let me tell you my experience with these things.

I have signed up for several of this type of systems and it's always the same.

I go inside, and I look around, and...

Nothing.

Nothing is a good match for my site. Am I in such a narrow niche that I can't use a program like this?

Have I niched myself into a corner with the topic of my blog?

Has the world yet to catch up with what I'm doing???

I like to think that I picked a topic on the upswing of popularity. I like to think that I provide a VALUABLE SERVICE too! Yet, I'm getting less than stellar results.

I find just a few Seminars to affiliate with and few other real products or services which seem to align themselves well with what I'm doing.

So, if you are on the inside, could you take a look around and stop by my site to let me know that YES, there IS something there which I can use.

Am I getting in my own way here? I'd like to sign up, I just want to get more than NOTHING when I go there.

@Pam - Thanks for your confidence in me. I will take a look at ShareASale.com and your website and see if I can find anything that I think may prove a good fit for you. I can honestly say, there are niches where SAS may not have merchants to work with. I have been in niches like that and you just have to find other ways to monetize your site.

@Pam - I emailed this information to you, but left a copy for other visitors. Thanks for the excellent question. These programs aren't for everyone and you have to find merchants that relate to your visitors. Here's what I think will work for you.

SAS does a good job of listing merchants by categories. So, you have family, food, gifts, home and garden and Marketing and a whole lot more.

After looking at your site, it appears with your Internet Marketing Seminar listings that the Marketing category may prove of interest to your readers.

Some companies I found in that category include:

Half Price Banners

Snap Monkey - which makes it easy to manage your website.

Enhance Interactive which pays out $25 per sale. I believe that is Yahoo's directory marketing arm and pay for placement search engine.

One merchant is Million Dollar Source which appears to be a company that prints money. :O In the form of Million Dollar bills which could be used for handing out at seminars as a remember your visit to our booth or workshop.

Promo Center International would again be a wonderful site to help you sell promotional items to companies that want to have a booth at a seminar.

Cosmodex which provides free web traffic, free advertising and free submission. It appears to be similar to Entrecard in some respects.

NameTag Wizard which again is a promotional items company with badges and name tags.

If any of your readers are going to be wanting business cards then BizCard may help them be ready to meet and greet at the show.

A company called Suluta works as an Affiliate Program Management company. If your site becomes a resource site for Seminar developers then there will be Affiliates looking to maximize their exposure.

People attending seminars are usually self-motivated learners. There is an education category with 55 merchants. Including these little gems:

MediaSpike, Inc - www.achieveYourCareer.com

Rhyme University

A company that teaches sign language. Every seminar should have a signer.

A merchant to teach Spanish.

The home school Magazine.

BookRenter

Visual Thesaurus

Here's a good one - World Speakers Association - Some seminars need to fill a space in short notice, might make a sale here or there?

Another Category of interest would be Webmaster Tools. People attending seminars are going to hear about webmaster tools and they will be wanting to buy them. You can be their first stop. There are 22 total merchants in this category.

One that impressed me that I will be adding to my banner ads is iWebTrack. They have some nice payouts and they are all about web analytics.

There are talking cards, cgi-central.net, templatesbox, and feedshare.

Other categories that might interest your visitors: General Web Services, Auction Services, Search Engine Submissions and web hosting.

There appears to be plenty of opportunity. I think you might find 5 that you want to try. I think with these programs it depends on ad placement on your website, and some testing different ads.

I might recommend you put a calendar on your page. That way your visitors could tell what seminars are coming up in the next 6 months. Maybe a list at the top of the page showing the next 20 seminars coming up with the link leading them to more details.
